May Fayre 2011
Magor's Got Talent went down really well, and I hope we shall be able to do it
again soon. Undy School were wonderful. Crazy Clayton was, as ever,
Crazy! Lots of brilliant stalls and food. Fantastic weather.
What a fantastic day. Thanks for your support.
Frost Fayre 2010
Thanks for your support. Great stalls with a huge variety of nice
things to buy for Christmas presents. Wonderful entertainment.
Thanks to Faye Richards (The best Kylie Tribute I have seen!), The Caldicot
Choir, Crazy Clayton, The Severn Tunnel Band, and stars of the show once again,
Magor School Choir. Lovely Hog (I am told!) and about 200 candy floss
sold. If anyone has some good photos, please e-mail them to
secretary@magorchurchmen.co.uk.
We will get some onto the gallery.
Fireworks - November 6th 2010
We hope you enjoyed our display this year. It was the first time that we
have called upon the help of a professional display team and we were impressed!
The display team was from Pendragon Fireworks and we thank them for such a
professional show. Let us know if you felt the same way. The evening
was a success, thanks to your support, and at the time of writing we anticipate
being able to announce a small profit, which will add to the donations that we
shall make to charities at our Annual General Meeting in the Spring.
May Fayre 2010
Great entertainment, good food, wonderful stalls and even better CandyFloss -
but I am a little biased there. Thanks again for your support and the
support of the entertainers and stall holders.
The Frost Fayre 2009
A very cold day, if you remember. Crazy Clayton, once again, got the children up and dancing with his infectious fun. The Magor School Choir and Severn Tunnel Band gave us some beautiful seasonal music and we were entertained by the unique NoFitState Circus. Those of us who could stand the cold enjoyed the juggler and the line dancers.
November 5th 2009 - Fireworks
We hope you enjoyed the fireworks. We had the best crowd yet and Mike and the team treated us to a wonderful display. It will be even bigger and better next year, he tells us.
The May Fayre 2009
Despite the cold, I am reliably informed that this was a very successful event. The stall holders made money for their respective good causes and the Churchmen sold food at the Hog Roast, Burger Stall and Candyfloss stall.
The schools performed for us and the huge audience was thrilled by their dancing and singing. (Thanks to the teachers for giving upi their bank holiday). The Morris Dancers were on good form once again and we were pleased to welcome Bungle Magic. The magic, Punch and Judy Shows and general silliness were all delightful, thanks Steve.
Love Pump made their debut appearance in the square and entertained us with a good selection of music that was enjoyed by all. I am sure we shall see the boys in the village again. Thanks to all of you.
Finally a huge number of people visited the square during the afternoon and without you we would all have looked very silly. Thanks to everyone for your support.
ASDA
provided us with a fantastic trailer for our stage. Once again we are extremely grateful. Thank you ASDA.The Frost Fayre 2008
A really successful evening, and it wasn't too cold.
Once again, Thanks to ASDA for supplying us with the stage, free of charge. It was great to have so much space for the entertainers.
Thanks to everyone who had a stall and to everyone who came and supported the event. As ever the profits go to local charities at our February AGM.
I really will get around to posting some photos, please let me have any that you may have taken.
The May Fayre 2008
The May Fayre was a great success. We made some money for charities and we hope you enjoyed the afternoon.
Thanks again to ASDA for the stage.
(They supplied it free of charge)
Please can I have some photographs? (see below for where to send them)
Erby the Clown enjoyed himself. He danced with the Morrismen and did some really good magic.
It was great to see the Borough of Newport Pipes and Drums again, and the Severn Tunnel Band. They played tunes that we all enjoy.
Magor School put on a great dancing display.
Toriah's voice filled the square beautifully and she sang some songs that we all know.
The Candyfloss went well. The Candyfloss men are still sticky after a really busy afternoon. They both flossed for over two hours without a break.
We sold 200 burgers and 100 hot dogs, not to mention a whole roast pig and some jacket potatoes.
The stall holders all did good business and made money for their own good causes.
Did anyone take photographs? I forgot to take my camera. If you have any good photos, please let me have them webmaster@magorchurchmen.co.uk I will put a selection of them on the web site for everyone to enjoy.
Summer 2008
During the Summer we have helped a number of events out with our Candy Floss Machines.
These include Undy School, Redwick Fête, Shirenewton Church Fête.
